The Naked Truths Series
Women, as a collective, are notoriously self aware. Ask any man and he’ll tell you his girlfriend/sister/friend takes far too long to get ready and worries far too much about their appearance. Society and media is mostly to blame for this. The rise of Photoshop and other editing techniques has inspired a generation of self awareness. Essentially, the media spends so much time taking apart the female form, that it is difficult for us not to do so.
This work is about the moment we start to take ourselves apart. Often, when we feel low, we can enter a self destructive mode. Our psychological state can skew our vision and actually change what we see. A normal attractive body becomes hidden behind minute flaws no one else will ever see. The imagery is intimate and features the body only.
